Dirghajeevi Voluntary Group (DVG) conducted an awareness program on childhood cancer today 27th July at V.S. Niketan School in Kathmandu, Nepal. This program was conducted among class 8 and 9 students where all together 627 students received the orange ribbon along with a pamphlet on information on Childhood cancer, Orange Ribbon International and Dirghajeevi Voluntary Group. DVG President Ayusha Nirola and Vice President Samir Shrestha together gave a 15 minute speech on the said topic after which an interaction with the students took place. The school had a total of 7 different classes for grade 8 and 8 different classes for grade 9. So DVG went to all the 15 classes and conducted the awareness program. It took 4 and half hours to complete the program. The response from the students was very good. They all paid attention to what we had to say and showed interest in acquiring more knowledge on childhood cancer.

The school administration were very helpful and said if need be we can conduct such programs in the future as well.
