Dirghajeevi Voluntary Group (DVG) conducted an awareness program on childhood cancer today 3rd November, 2009 at Nobel High School in Kathmandu, Nepal. This program was conducted among class 8, 9 and 10 students where all together 525 students received the orange ribbon along with a pamphlet on information on Childhood cancer, Orange Ribbon International and Dirghajeevi Voluntary Group. DVG President Ayusha Nirola and Vice President Samir Shrestha together gave a 15 minute speech on the said topic after which an interaction with the students took place. The school had a total of 15 different class rooms for 8,9 and 10th grade. So DVG went to all the 15 classes and conducted the awareness program. We had divided into two groups so, this time around it took less time to complete the last time we had conducted a similar program at another school. It took a total of 2 and ½ hours to complete the program. The response from the students was very good. They all paid attention to what we had to say and showed interest in acquiring more knowledge on childhood cancer.

The school administration was very helpful and said if need be we can conduct such programs in the future as well.
